Working on POC project for major client in financial/insurance industry using IBM Cognos 10 BI, installation, configuration, ETL, DTS, designing data structure, hierarchies, dimensions, migrating reports and models from Cognos 8 to Cognos 10, creating new reports and dashboards.

1         Installed and configured Cognos on distributed multi-server environment, supported and administered Cognos 8 Environment including performance tuning, secured the portal by using  AD and periodically monitored the overall performance, maintained and managed the permissions for users, groups and roles using administrative tools in Cognos.

2         Developed various complex reports in Report Studio and Analysis Studio; well versed in creating Dashboards, Scorecards and customised portal tabs for various business units.

3         Designed and developed Framework manager models, packages, metric packages, cubes, joined fact and master data sources by using schema concepts based on business needs.

4         Specified, wrote and maintained Cognos Version 7 Powerplay cubes with drill through reports using Transformer; was responsible for the migration of Cognos Series 7 to Cognos 8

5         Worked on a SQL Server 2005 Management/Development Studios to perform the data transformation and ETL procedures.

6         Evaluated business processes and strategies, performed business analysis, captured and translated business requirements into technical specifications

1         Was responsible for successfully designing the relational schema for the cube, designing & building the cube and ETL work loading data into the relational data-store using SQL scripts.

2         Participated in a set-up and configuration of automated trigger-based job scheduling. Have developed DDL & DML scripts for enhancements.
